With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Pierce County,  the Port of Tacoma commission will return to holding its regular monthly meetings remotely starting in September. The Port commission’s next meeting is on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2:30 p.m.   

The commission resumed in-person meetings in July following updated guidance released by the Governor’s Office on June 30, 2021. However, Pierce County is currently an area with substantial COVID-19 transmissions and rising COVID infection rates.
 
“Returning to remote meetings during this time while cases are surging in our region is safest for the community, commissioners and staff,” said Dick Marzano, Port of Tacoma commission president.
 
The public can listen to the commission meetings by phone or watch a live broadcast on the port’s website. Commission meetings are also archived for on-demand viewing. Information on meeting dates, agendas, meeting call-in number, and public comment guidelines can be found at
