Expect delays on Port of Tacoma Road this weekend, Oct. 4 and 5, while a contractor working for Tacoma Public Works replaces deteriorated pavement near Washington United Terminals. The work is weather dependent.

The contractor will replace approximately 290 feet of existing pavement in the two northbound lanes with new subgrade and asphalt pavement. Port of Tacoma Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction during construction.

If this weekend’s weather does not allow paving, the work will be rescheduled for the following weekend, Oct. 11 and 12.

The project is funded by the City of Tacoma’s Heavy Haul Fund, which is financed by truck permits issued for the Port industrial area.
