"The partisan quibbling over this transportation legislation is getting very old," declared the News Tribune in this morning's editorial.

Noting once again how close the two sides are to finalizing a statewide transportation packaged that would, among other things, complete State Route 167, the newspaper called on lawmakers to set aside electoral politics and focus instead on getting a deal done.

Lawmakers ought to get into a room and "turn the thermostat up to 80 degrees and have the doors barred until the combatants figure out how to do right by the state and walk out with smiles on their faces."
