Due to the cost of fuel, the fuel surcharge for the Port of Tacoma straddle carriers will be adjusted as follows:

  • The North Intermodal Yard lift surcharge will increase from $0.75 ​to $0.92 per lift, effective Sept. 27.
  • The gate charge Port-operated terminals surcharge will increase from $0.75 ​to $0.92 per lift, effective Sept. 27.​
  • The straddle carrier rental surcharge will increase from $7.48 to $9.18 per hour, effective Oct. 1.

These charges are based on fuel costs for Port of Tacoma straddle carriers between Aug. 16 and Sept. 19. The fuel surcharge will be reviewed again Oct. 17, with notification by Oct. 22.
