Due to the cost of fuel, the fuel surcharge for the Port of Tacoma straddle carriers will be adjusted as follows:

  • The North Intermodal Yard lift surcharge will decrease from $0.81 to $0.69, effective July 26.
  • The gate charge Port-operated terminals surcharge will decrease from $0.81 to $0.69, effective July 26.​
  • The straddle carrier rental surcharge will decrease from $8.05 to $6.89 per hour, effective Aug. 1.

These charges are based on fuel costs for Port of Tacoma straddle carriers between June 22 and July 18. The fuel surcharge will be reviewed again Aug. 15, with notification by Aug. 20.
