Due to the cost of fuel, the fuel surcharge for the Port of Tacoma straddle carriers will be adjusted as follows:

  • The North Intermodal Yard lift surcharge will increase from $0.69 to $0.75 ​per lift, effective Aug. 23.
  • The gate charge Port-operated terminals surcharge will increase from $0.69 to $0.75 ​per lift, effective Aug. 23.​
  • The straddle carrier rental surcharge will increase from $6.89 to $7.48 per hour, effective Sept. 1.

These charges are based on fuel costs for Port of Tacoma straddle carriers between July 19 and Aug. 15. The fuel surcharge will be reviewed again Sept. 19, with notification by Sept. 24.
