Construction began the week of July 7, 2020 and will be primarily focused on Taylor Way from E. 11th Street to SR 509. The work will generally include demolition, utility placement, rail crossing replacement and paving. Tentative dates and activities include:

  • July 7 - Site preparation/erosion control installation.
  • July 13 - Watch for crews on Taylor Way performing subsurface testing at various locations. Traffic to be shifted around work zones.
  • July 16 – Taylor Way from E. 11th Street to Lincoln Avenue will be reduced to one lane (direction varies) into October, a detour will be in place via Alexander Avenue. Note, this section of roadway may be reduced to one-way flagger controlled or totally closed at night or over weekends.
  • Evening of July 19 – Taylor Way from Lincoln Avenue to SR 509 will be reduced to two lanes, one lane in each direction. Two lanes will remain in place through 2021 (approximate time frame of re-opening roadway to three lanes will be posted based on weather and construction progress). Note, this section of roadway may be reduced to one-way flagger controlled or totally closed at night or over weekends. Night work to begin in this section on July 25, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Saturday evening through Wednesday morning.
