The Port has been awarded U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration grant in the amount of $2,365,000. In which 58.55% will be applied towards this project.
The Work required for this Project includes but is not limited to: The removal and replacement of fifteen (15) No 9 turnouts; remove and dispose of existing ballast and placement of new ballast under turnouts; furnishing, lining, grading, and compaction of new turnouts and trackwork; removal and replacement of existing paved crossings; coordinate with the Port of Tacoma and Tacoma Rail to complete the work in a phased approach that limits impacts to track outages and traffic.
