The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded the Port of Tacoma its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Port’s 2015 budget document.

The Port of Tacoma was honored with a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award at the 2015 Esri International User Conference in San Diego. This award acknowledges vision, leadership, hard work and innovative use of Esri's geographic information system (GIS) technology.

The ports of Tacoma and Seattle applaud the Washington State Legislature’s passage of a $16.2 billion transportation investment package that will benefit the state’s economy by speeding the movement of cargo through the ports and freight corridors.

Taking another key step in forming The Northwest Seaport Alliance, commissioners from the ports of Tacoma and Seattle voted Friday to submit a final agreement to the Federal Maritime Commission for approval.

With Sen. Patty Murray’s leadership, the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee approved funding for a critical provision that would reform the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund and significantly benefit the ports of Tacoma and Seattle. 

Heralding a key milestone in the formation of a Seaport Alliance, a draft of the final agreement between the ports of Tacoma and Seattle has been released. 

A bill passed by the state Legislature and signed Friday by Gov. Jay Inslee provides the ports of Seattle and Tacoma the ability to form a port development authority in support of the Seaport Alliance.

The Port of Tacoma recognized its strong, supportive relationships with customers and stakeholders by honoring three with the fourth annual Summit Awards for their outstanding contributions to Port business and the Pierce County community.
