Free annual boat tours highlight port operations, jobs
Please join us on Sunday, July 29, for our free 2018 Port of Tacoma Centennial Boat Tours at the Foss Waterway Seaport Museum's Maritime Fest, 705 Dock Street, Tacoma, WA 98402. Discover fun facts about one of the busiest ports in North America.
The free one hour boat tours will be offered at 9am, 10:30am, 12 noon, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm. For those with mobility challenges, the 9am and 4:30pm tours are the best, with the higher tide allowing for easier boarding.
All attendees need to be registered including infants. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure time. Parking is free in the lot adjacent to the museum. Please print your tickets out or be ready to show them on your smartphone when boarding.
The boat tours provide views of the working waterfront and some of the 29,000 jobs connected to port activities. The narrated tours featured fun facts about port history, development, tenants and customers. Register for one of the tours.
Join us on free bus tours of the Port and learn about the valuable jobs related to international trade. Tours are approximately 90 minutes long.
Bus tours for the remainder of the year:
- June 30* from 9:30 to 11 a.m. (Full)
- July No bus tour this month due to boat tours
- Aug. 21 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
- Sept. 27 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
* These dates are Saturday tours
Where: Bus tours depart from the Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road in Tacoma.
Space is limited and reservations are required. Children age 6 and older are welcome. Photo identification is required for passengers over 17 years of age.
