Fall Nature Walks
Dust off your binoculars and join the Port Biologist Wednesday, Oct. 16, for a one-hour tour of the Place of Circling Waters. Tours start at: 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. There are only 20 spots available on each tour. Sign up today by emailing: email@example.com or by calling (253) 428-8862. Plan to wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
Dedicated by members of the Port of Tacoma commission and members of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians in 2011, the Place of Circling Waters, a former gravel mine, is now a 30-acre restored habitat site at the mouth of Hylebos Creek. Featuring valuable intertidal marsh, stream channels and forested open space, the site is connected to several other restored areas along the creek and is part of a larger effort to rejuvenate salmon runs on the tidally-influenced stream.
Join us on free bus tours of the Port and learn about the valuable jobs related to international trade. Tours are approximately 2 hours long.
