Development sites and projects

We clean up land contaminated by decades of industrial use. We return the property to productive use under protective measures, often as terminal or industrial operations that create jobs and economic growth for our community.

Compared with other major West Coast ports, we still have room to grow. And with the dramatic changes underway in the international container trade, we are focused on attracting new business to diversify our cargo mix.

Current development projects

  • Puget Sound Energy LNG facility: Puget Sound Energy (PSE) plans to build a facility to provide LNG for natural gas customers and maritime transportation needs, including fueling TOTE Maritime Alaska vessels.

Requests for proposals

  • Maytown Mine Site: Submit responses to the Port's request for offer to purchase the 745-acre site in Thurston County.
