Kiryat Motzkin, Israel

Sister cities since April 10, 1979, Tacoma and Kiryat Motzkin enjoy about one cultural exchange each year.

Kiryat Motzkin is located on the west coast of Israel outside the large city of Haifa. It was founded in 1934 on the sands between the railroad tracks and the Haifa-Acre road.

During years of strife between Arabs and Jews, Kiryat Motzkin's location was of strategic importance. Now independent, the city, which boasts a highly developed infrastructure, educational system and cultural, sports and fine arts programs, is the commercial center for the surrounding towns.
