The following list identifies pre-qualified drayage trucking companies and owners/contractors of drayage trucks that meet the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy's goals. This list also highlights firms that are partners in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's
SmartWay program.
The Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy set short-term and long-term goals to reduce port-related diesel emissions. For trucks, that means:
- By 2010: Equivalent diesel emissions level of 1994 or newer heavy-duty truck engine model year
- By 2015: 80% of heavy-duty drayage trucks reach the equivalent diesel emissions level of 2007 or newer engine model year. By 2017, all trucks are to meet 2007 emission levels.
This Best Management Practices (BMP) list is one component of the Port of Tacoma's Truck Program. The list is updated periodically.
