Activities within the Port's Commencement Bay Industrial Development District (IDD) include:
- Warehousing
- Transloading
- Manufacturing
- Fabrication and storage on sites close to marine cargo terminals
Industrial facilities include:
- 900,000 square feet (81,000 square meters) of warehouse space, two-thirds of which is rail-served.
- More than 50 acres (20 hectares) of fenced storage yards and more than 100 acres (40 hectares) of land available for industrial activities.
- Existing industrial facilities and sites are available for short- or long-term lease, and some bare-land sites may be available for long-term tenant-financed development.
Building for the Future:
Over the next five years, the Port's capital improvement program includes funding for warehouse/distribution facilities.
